BECAUSE OF POPULARITY - THE NORTHWEST RIBFEST MOVES TO THE LARGEST STAGE IN THE TREASURE VALLEY TO ACCOMMODATE MASS ATTENDANCE - THE OUTDOOR AMPHITHEATER AT THE IDAHO CENTER!! reads the facebook page of organizer Kasey Thompson.

-- Due to concerns over the expected number of rib and music lovers, The Northwest RibFest is relocating the event taking place June 27th-30th. --

EAGLE, ID – With the number of BBQ teams, food vendors and exhibitors quickly approaching 200, Help Idaho has selected the Idaho Center Outdoor Amphitheater as the home for the 2013 Northwest RibFest presented by Kendall Ford. Attendance is expected to possibly exceed 100,000 people for this FREE over the four days. The city of Meridian was very concerned with its ability to service the expected crowds as Kleiner Park only has 500 parking spaces as opposed to 3,500 at the Idaho Center.

Last year, the RibFest was a two-day event which drew in approximately 50,000 rib lovers. So many people showed up that a number of cookers ran out of ribs. “This year will be totally different in that regard”, stated Help Idaho Director Kasey Thompson. “We have gone out and brought in the nation’s top BBQ teams to make sure that we have more than enough ribs this year.”

Help Idaho Director Randal Nelson also spoke about the changes to the music groups. “We stepped up the level of our performers to meet the desires of the attendees and selected entertainers from both the rock and country genres.” This year’s musical performance schedule is as follows:

- Journey Unauthorized will be performing Thursday, June 27th at 6:30
- Ty Herndon will be performing Friday, June 28th at 6:30
- Billy Dean will be performing Saturday, June 29th at 6:30
- Led Zeppelin Live will be performing Sunday, June 30th at 3:30

The RibFest is a wonderful opportunity for businesses to show their support for Help Idaho and the community. With 100,000 visitors expected during the three-day event, it's an excellent brand building opportunity as well.
